The lotus grows from mud, yet blooms with utmost purity. In her first solo exhibition in France for her disciplinary project #OwnYourRoots, Singaporean artist Zo Fan presents a luminous meditation between depth and light. Through works born from eight years of life in France, she transforms intimate memory, the soil of solitude, the rain of longing, into digital serenity. Here, artificial intelligence becomes not a tool, but a collaborator in translating silence; pain is no longer an end, but the fertile ground where rebirth begins. This exhibition invites you not to escape the mud, but to recognize it as the very source from which beauty patiently rises.

Zo invited Her Belle Tease to create a collection of blends that are inspired by the 8 Fold Path in Buddhism. Precisely the 8 Pains of Life. The Pain of Birth, Aging, Meeting Triggers, Sickness, Death, Separation from Loved Ones, Disfulfilment of Wants, Overattachment to Senses. The ingredients used have been inspired by our Founder, Samm Lewis’s own experiences of each of the pains. During conversations between Samm and Zo they recognised a lot of similarities of their own hardships moving to a new country over the space of the last 8 years. We co-hosted tea experiences in Paris at the Fo Guan Shan Buddhist Temple, where we created considerations to explore each pain over 10 weeks, enjoying a tea tasting, turning our considerations into paintings with the teas as inks and then we used the waste to turn into incense.
